George was born in Texas having graduated in the top of his High School Class and proceeded to attend Texas A&M graduating with a BS Degree in Meteorology, given his strong desire to Fly Navy. Regrettably, while in Pensacola, Florida, attending U.S. Navy Flight School between his Junior and Senior Years of College, color vision difficulties were determined thus restricting him to non-flyer status. This turn of events prompted him to enter Officer Candidate School (OSC) of the United States Marine Corps upon graduating from Texas A&M. Upon completion of OCS, The Basic School (TBS) and Specialty MOS Schooling, he became an Air Defense Traffic Control Officer for 3 years before entering Law School in Orange County California. He attended Western State University College of Law while in the USMC Reserves returning to the Active Duty Marine Corps upon graduation and was noticed of his passing the California Bar Exam while in Okinawa, Japan. Upon returning stateside, he attended and completed Naval Justice School in New Port, Rhode Island, resulting in his becoming a Military Active Duty Marine Jag Officer being assigned to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA. While in Southern California on Active Duty, he attended National University at nights and acquired his Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Upon reaching the Military Field Officer Rank of Major, he could have sought higher ranks by remaining on Active Duty to Retirement or leave the service to enter Private Practice. In July 1984, he decided to open his Sole Law Practice in Oceanside, CA. While at Camp Pendleton, CA, and while still on active military duty, he was fortunate to be asked by the Marine Corps Base Senior Staff Judge Advocate to represent Military Personnel in the local State of California Trial Courts in San Diego County. This involvement actually further motivated him to seek the private practice of law, even though he then and still loves his Marine Corps; as evident that both of his Adult Children are Active Duty in the United States Marine Corps. His daughter is also a California attorney, admitted in 2011, and is currently serving in the USMC.

He practiced civilian Family Law from July 1984 to August 1990 in Southern California when he and his Wife, Karen, and their two children, moved to Northern California where he and his Wife remain today.

He has been a member of the State Bar of California, the Bar's Family Law Section and ABA since 1979 to date [all the while remaining in the Private Practice of Family Law]. George has sat as an Attorney Panel Member for providing Continuing Legal Education Course Work in the Area of Family Law to Placer & Sacramento County Area Family Law Attorneys, as well as, acted as a Family Law Pro Tem Judge in Family Law Departments of the Placer County Superior Court.

George and Karen have been married for over 36 years. Both Mr. and Mrs. Martinez have been active in the communities of Granite Bay and Roseville. George's past community involvement includes being President of the Granite Bay High School Band's Emerald Brigade Support Organization, Executive Board President for Boy Scouts of America Granite Bay Troop 121 and both he and his wife are active members in their local Catholic church. Faith is important to them both and use their faith as a basis for guiding their family law practice.
