George A. Martinez
Mr. Martinez is originally from the State of Texas and has practiced law throughout Southern and Northern California. He was admitted into the Practice of Law after having graduated from Texas A&M University in 1972. He spent two and a half years in the United Stated Marine Corps as a Close Air Support Operations Officer. He entered into Law School in 1975 in Fullerton California where he attended Western State University and remained in the United States Marine Corps Reserve throughout Law School. He graduated with a Jurist Doctorate in December 1978. In early 1979, he returned to full Active Duty in the United States Marine Corps where he was assigned overseas and was also admitted into the State Bar of California which resulted in his becoming a Marine JAG Officer. Mr. Martinez obtained the Rank of Major in the United States Marine Corps and obtained his MBA while in the Corps in 1982 from National University. He remained a Marine JAG Officer until January 1985 when he entered into private practice in Southern California. In 1990, Mr. Martinez moved his private practice of law and family from Southern California to the Sacramento Area which he had gotten to first know while traveling through to visit his older Brother in the State of Oregon in the late 1980's.
Mr. Martinez has been married to his Wife, Karen, for over 30 years and has two adult Children, the youngest soon to enter the United States Marine Corps having obtained his AS Degree in Southern CA, and the oldest having recently graduated from Penn State Dickinson School of Law School on the East Coast. He has been a member of the American Bar Association for over 30 years, since 1979, and the State of California Bar Family Law Section for over 25 years, since 1985.
Mr. Martinez prides himself in being an active part of the Granite Bay & Roseville Communities by having been both the President of the Granite Bay High School Band's Emerald Brigade Support Organization and long time Execute Board President for Boy Scouts of America Granite Bay Troop 121. Mr. Martinez has assisted many young men in the Granite Bay and Roseville Community to become Eagle Scouts; of which his Son is also one.
Mr. Martinez recently completed his position as the first Treasurer and Secretary for the newly formed Placer County Family Law Executive Committee (FLEC), a part of the Placer County Bar Association.
